Dress Like a Leading Lady on The Dressing Room with Jamie Glickman!

Hi Broadway world, my name is Jamie Glickman and welcome back to another episode of The Dressing

Room where we talk about everything at the intersection of theater, style, and beauty

So in honor of International Women's Day this Monday, March 8th, I put together some casual

outfits inspired by some of my favorite Broadway leading ladies from Kate Monster to Elphaba

These women have their own unique style and that is what is so fun about creating these outfits

Let's get into the video. So this first outfit is inspired by Elphaba's casual school look. Elphaba

is such a powerful character and if you haven't seen Wicked yet you must run to see it when Broadway

reopens because I think it is one of the most iconic shows ever and you will never stop singing

Defying Gravity. Elphaba is green so I'm wearing this tie-dye sweatshirt with my black BDG jeans

My boots are from Urban Outfitters, my hat is from The Gap, my jacket is Abercrombie, and my glasses are Ray-Bans

This outfit is super casual, and black and green will always be in style and will never not remind me of Wicked

This picture on the right is of Jessica Vosk as Elphaba. I saw her in Wicked, and she was absolutely incredible, and I love her so, so, so much

Wicked is an iconic show, and I can't wait until it is back running at the Gershwin, and I just feel like a bad witch

This look is inspired by Kate Monster from Avenue Q. This outfit might be my favorite because I was in the closing cast of Avenue Q at New World Stages

and I kind of always wondered what Kate Monster would look like if she was a human and not a monster

My sweater is from The Gap, my jeans are from Topshop, my furry jacket is from The Gap, and my shoes are Doc Martin

Kate Monster wears a cute little purple top and is obviously furry because she's, well, a monster

so I thought this purple sweater and fuzzy coat fit her personality so well. So this outfit is inspired by Anya from Anastasia This look is based off of her oversized belted coat look My shirt and jeans are from Target my jacket is

Kendall and Kylie, and my belt is thrifted and my boots are from Fry. I

would never think to belt an oversized coat like in my normal life but Anya

inspired me and I kind of love how this looks. I went for a baggier look and like

ripped jeans since her outfit is a bit tattered and I actually love how this looks. So this next

look is inspired by Katie Herron from Mean Girls. My shirt is from Target. My flannel is from The Gap

My jeans are Reformation. My boots are Doc Martens and my backpack is Herschel. I love this little

pink backpack. Katie is a high school student and her outfits are already very casual so this look

is really easy to recreate. I just put my hair in this half up half down thing and I think that

this look is so fun and I'm totally feeling too gruel for school. All right so this next look is

inspired by Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. So when I think of Legally Blonde I obviously think of pink

and I love a good jumpsuit and this one is from The Gap. I layered it over a white turtleneck from

Everlane. My shoes are Nike Air Force Ones. My bag is Herschel and my sunglasses are Quay

My hair pink sparkly clips are from Aerie and I just think this look is so extra and so like 2000s

and I just love it. So this last look is inspired by Eponine from Les Mis. This is an extremely

casual interpretation of what she wears, but the hat is the most important part. My hat is from

Urban Outfitters. My turtleneck is from The Gap. My jeans are Revice denim, and my boots are Doc

Martens. I love this jacket from Nasty Gowl. I think it really ties the look together because

Eponine wears so many different coats in the show and different productions. Eponine is such a

beautiful and strong character to say the least and I just love this look so much thank you so
