Make it work, make it easy
0:11
Make it clever, crafted into pieces, Make it sweet, cramp the edges
0:18
Or make it sour and serve with lemon wedges Even doubt can be delicious
0:26
And it washes off of all the dirty dishes When it's done, I can smile
0:33
It's on someone else's plate from life I place it on display
0:44
And then I'll slice and serve my worries away I can fix this, I can choose it into it to
1:00
sugar butter covered pieces never mind what's underneath that I have done before
1:12
the bake me door to help me get through I've learned from you
1:24
it's amazing what baking can do Make it up and surprise them
1:39
Tell them all my secrets disguising. So they dance on the tongues of the very people
1:48
that they're secret from. Make it soon. Make it better I know better than it lasts forever I make it small so it fits even now
2:12
Even as the walls come down, even as I can't stop me now, even as I can't stop me now, even as I can't stop
2:22
Remember now Every door we ever made we never once walked out
2:33
So with them I never got the chance to ask her about
2:42
So with flour on my hands, I'll show them all how goddamn happy I am
3:12
Let's see the next amazing thing baking us now
3:22
Thank you. Thank you
3:32
I want to welcome to the stage one of my nearest, my nearest and dearest
3:36
This is Gavin Creel. Ken Dr. Cometer. Hi. We coordinated in black and white today
3:44
We did. Very serious. We're very serious about color. And we going to sing a song from the first act This is Do we have to set it up or anything Yeah Let tell them who you are I play Dr Pomerter and I her gyno collegeist A..
4:03
Character study, okay. And we're just, we're at a bus stop and this is kind of my favorite part of the musical
4:13
second favorite part, when we're sort of finding a common ground of both dreaming about something
4:19
and I respect her wonderful skills in the bakery. And I respect his wonderful skills in the gynaecologist's office
4:29
So, yeah, two people who feel slightly unseen in their lives, seeing each other for the first time
4:34
Shall we? Less. You know, it's kind of funny. Yeah, seeing you sitting here in your waitress uniform
4:44
can you remind me of a girl I once knew? God, by now she's well in middle age
4:50
She's probably 41 or 42 Thank you What, no, oh God, no sorry, I only meant it
4:58
She was a waitress at a shop I used to frequent quite a lot
5:03
Nice teeth and small hands and snuck me goodies I couldn't afford them
5:07
She was sweet to me Reminds me of you Nobody ever really notices me that way
5:15
Somebody did, right? I mean, you got the whole baby thing going on
5:20
She'd bake the pies fresh every day, like you, I guess. But I'm gonna say if pies were books yours would be Shakespeare's letters
5:29
It'll remind me of her, but better. It only tastes and taste when it's something special
5:42
It only tastes and taste, When you know it good sometimes one bite is more than enough to know you want more of the thing you just got a taste of
5:59
That reminds me of a thing we would say. Me and my mama in the kitchen, the wheat bay, she'd say, Jenna, you can tell a whole story with a taste
6:14
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. I swear that as those flavors mixed and melted, I could hear the sirens sing
6:22
It was truly something special, one taste that I want the whole thing
6:29
I must say it felt like I got carried away. Intoxicated made me escape the room I was in
6:45
I can't help but wonder how your hands must have felt
6:55
creating such a masterful thing Just one bite Caused all that wandering
7:07
It only takes the taste It only tastes and tastes
7:17
I know it's good sometimes one bite is more than enough. To know you are more of the thing you just gotta taste of it
7:45
Thank you so much, everybody. And we're going to come around and have a chat
