You are a Tony winner. How does it feel

I am? Holy, that's what this is. They handed me this and I just, they thought, it feels heavy

I'm going to predict that you're going to ask me to spin it. I started that 25 years ago

Oh, okay, you started that. It feels good. It feels lovely. It's really nice

So well-deserved. Tell me what this means to you coming from this beautiful show you helped create

It means that working very hard on a show that you're trying to make a different piece of art, of a terrible sentence, actually is appreciated by a lot of people

And that's beautiful. And I can look down this little red carpet here and see bona fide genius David Cromer get a Tony for his amazing, subtle, and beautiful direction of a musical

Everything he says is a tissue of lies. It's just, boy, you should have heard what I just said about you

We had many, many conversations during this show from Broadway to Broadway

It's just the way this show touches an audience, what it means to you. It means everything

Having a thousand people or so in there every night, engaged with not just the characters but with the people on stage

and the musicians who are playing often improvised music having them listen to the poetry of Idomar work and the characters of Eran Colrin amazing original movie

it just means a lot. To me, I often teach, and it also means maybe there's something influential

about doing a show that dives a little deep. You have 90 seconds to walk up there and give a speech

Your speech was beautiful, short, and sweet. Was there someone you forgot to thank

There's someone you forgot to thank. I didn't thank my father. I think he deserves some thanks

He took me to the theater. I grew up in New York City, he and my mother, as a kid

So that got me interested in this stuff. They also took me to see Miles Davis when I was a kid

and I want to thank the amazing musicians who are not until recently were not actors

who are in our show every night on stage and also below the stage

this is the most amazing group of world class musicians I've ever worked with

and I'm sure there's others but I'm dazed have you hold it up
