Hi, I'm Ty. I'm Isabella. And I'm Charles. And we're Broadway World Kid Critics
0:07
We're here at Sari's Restaurant learning all about Kids Night on Broadway
0:12
So come along with us and we'll give you a behind-the-scenes look
0:22
What is Kids Night on Broadway? There are certain shows that are currently running on Broadway and even some national tours all over the country
0:30
decide to have one night during the winter to have kids come to the shows that we're doing
0:38
If one full-priced adult comes to the theater, then their child gets to come for free
0:44
What is it like being here with all these kids from Broadway shows? It's great because I get to meet new people that are doing the same stuff as me
0:51
and we can make new friends. Yeah, same as he said, we can make a lot of new friends, hang out with them as well
0:57
We're going to meet different people from here in different shows like Aladdin or something like that
1:04
Why do you guys think Kids Night on Broadway is important? I think that seeing other kids on stage, it can inspire them to do amazing things and to work hard at what they like to do
1:15
It inspires them to maybe one day do stuff like this and inspire other people Why do you think this show is important right now and important for kids Throughout life there always going to be fears and things that we afraid of
1:29
But if we stay strong, we have hope in our heart, love and confidence in ourselves
1:34
If we keep moving forward, anything is possible. And that's what Anya portrays every night on stage
1:41
And I just love that I get to show that about Anya. Because when young kids see it, they can realize that they have the ability to do that too
1:48
with whatever they hope to accomplish or whatever dreams they dream up in their lives
1:53
Why do you think this show is important for kids to see
1:58
It's important for kids to see to be able to see what loving families look like
2:04
to see what it's like to try to make your dreams come true
2:08
but also, and for me this is important because I'm a parent with an 11-year-old child
2:13
that there is also such a thing as disappointment and being able to come back from that
2:18
and to be able to stand up from that and be able to still stand up and be triumphant
2:23
Do you see a lot of kids in the audience? We do. We actually do. We have kids as young as maybe five or six come to the show
2:32
and I guess kids as old as 90 have been able to come too. I saw Bronx Tale, and I loved it. It's one of my favorite musicals
2:39
I love all the songs, but what is your favorite song you go to? My favorite song is I Like It It an amazing song It just very poppy very shows what it is So why do you think it is important for kids to see your show
2:56
Because it gives a great message, like just be who you want to be. And yeah
3:01
I think that it's important for kids to see our show because it does give a great message
3:08
and it's definitely helpful for the kids growing up out there. It's such an inspiring and helpful message for kids who are going through
3:19
they have a lot of questions and stuff. How does it feel to be a part of such a tight-knit family in Lion King on Broadway
3:26
It feels amazing. It's a wonderful experience, but it goes by so quickly
3:30
that you just have to nurture it and take it all in
3:34
because I love these guys. These guys are my family. What is it like to be on Broadway
3:39
Um, it's really easy, kind of, and really fun. What was your reaction when you found out that you got the part
3:50
I was excited, very excited. And what's your favorite part about being on Broadway
3:56
Um, that I get to do what I love more than anything in the world, which is sing and act
4:02
I've been doing it since I was a very young girl, and I just love the art form. What has been your favorite Broadway theater to perform So far I performed at let me see the Broadway Theatre the Broadhurst the Imperial the Virginia which is now the August Wilson and now Circle in the Square
4:19
My sentimental favorite will always be the Broadway because that's the first Broadway
4:24
Theater I ever got to perform in. What is your favorite part about being in a Broadway show
4:30
I really like meeting new people and making new friendships and, you know, just like the joy of
4:38
being on stage and, yeah, making everyone happy. I really like seeing all of the audience's reactions
4:44
and coming out that stage door and seeing all of the people just smiling
4:49
And it's really happy. It's amazing to make people happy. Why do you feel it's important that kids see Broadway shows
4:57
Because, well, when I was a very young girl, I saw Broadway. And it inspired me to want to become an actress
5:02
But even young kids that don't want to become actors, They can be inspired by just seeing these scenarios playing out on stage and realizing that they're not alone
5:12
In many ways, a lot of the same complications and dramas that happen and play out on stage
5:17
we can go through in different ways in our own lives at home. And just to see things happen on stage, we can see, oh my gosh, I'm just like everyone else
5:24
I'm a human being and I'm not alone. And we're all together in this little soup on the planet Earth
