The Cast of DEATH DROP Discuss Their West End Debut

Tom Hayden-Milwood here for Broadway World UK. And we're at the Garrick Theatre today

to meet some of the fabulous cast members of London's first ever Dragatha Christie murder mystery

so move over mousetrap and shantay you stay for the west end premiere of death drop

i think that the world is ready for the first ever drag of the christy murder mystery to be on

the west end to be in an all-drag cast is super exciting and i just think it's the perfect thing

for this time of year as well. It's festive. Everyone's been trapped inside

It's all been very serious and this show is not at all serious

It's so much fun. It's so camp and it's so silly. And I think people are just going to enjoy laughing and having a great time It feels so good to be out of lockdown back on the West End It my second time on the West End now which is amazing So yeah just to be able to come out of my house

Well, I'm super excited. One, to leave my house, but two, to be a part of such a magnificent production

It feels absolutely amazing to be stepping out of lockdown and coming and being here at the Garrick Theatre

Honestly, I can't tell you what a huge honour it is to be a drag king standing on a West End stage in 2020 lockdown

Having been trapped inside for nine months, like that first time that we're going to be on stage on opening night

hearing like real applause and no cheering, foot stamping, clicking, applause, maybe like these ones

What are they called? they've brought together a bunch of us kooky characters to play other kooky characters

it's just layers of amazing well i'm playing shazza who is an australian pop singer the show

set in 1991 but shazza is trapped in the 80s so my character in death drop is called Lady von Fistenberg hence the gloves Censor I actually just come dressed with my sister hair from 1987

I play a character called Rich Whiteman, who's a conservative MP for Oxbridge, who is a Tory

So I'm well outside my own comfort zone. So my character is named Filmmaker, and he is a sleazy Hollywood producer

and I relate as a sleazy Hollywood wannabe. It's a bit like Boris, but thinner

The theatre have taken all the precautions to make sure it's absolutely COVID safe

for our audience and for us as the actors and the team behind the stage as well

The Garrick Theatre is COVID secure. Even at tier three it's allowed to open because everybody's socially distanced

We're going to be mask for mask, mask for mask, are gonna be covered up and that kind of stuff. We're gonna be checking temperatures on the way in

It's gonna be completely safe for everybody to come and watch and enjoy, so no need to worry

I mean the great thing about this show is it really for everybody The script isn it not too much of like an in You don have to know drag or have seen Drag Race to fall in love with this show is it really for everybody The script isn it not too much of an in You don have to know drag or have seen drag race to fall in love with this show It just a lot of fun Oh if I could describe

Death Drop in one sentence, it would be a mystery among mysteries

Among mysteries. Death Drop is an absolute scream. A magnificent silly murder mystery

that is to die for. I really think that anybody would enjoy

the show who loves a bit of camp. And who doesn't love a bit of camp

Especially at Christmas. Camp. Tickets for Death Drop are on sale
