Hi, I'm Taylor Iman Jones and we're at the opening night of Scotland, PA
0:07
I think it's the retelling of an old school story that is classic and timeless
0:13
I was thinking about it today actually during the show that it's so fun to do the Scottish play as a comedy
0:18
And to get to sing Adam Gwan's music is such a treat
0:22
I know I feel lucky. I know we all are just so excited to finally have made it here
0:29
and to share it with everyone else now. It is so fun
0:34
She really gets to pull from all your kind of dark favorite places
0:39
But she's all a lot of fun, and she's really fiery and spicy. To be honest, it was a lot of pressure, and I was very nervous still
0:47
I'm very nervous to this day to have this responsibility. but if you ever get a chance to play LADM, do it, because it's a lot of fun
0:54
It's just so fun to do new works, and to do new works with this company and with this creative team has been a dream
1:01
They are all geniuses, and we have really kind of put our blood, sweat, tears
1:05
all things that we've had into the process, and we're just loving it
1:10
We're having a good time. When I think about Scala P.A., my character's song has gone through 95 different versions
1:17
I've had different jokes. At one point, I tap danced. At one point I scattered, I was like da ba da ba ha ha ha ha
1:23
And so when I think about the progression of what's happened and where we landed, you know, it took some time to figure it all out
1:30
So that my memory is like the journey of getting to Peg MacDuff
1:35
Don't you want to be a somebody? A guy who got in the crowd Is this like a set up Don you want wanna be a big time big shot Make your hot white proud Break it
1:49
It's changed so much. I've had friends that came and saw it like the first week of previews and they're like
1:54
we should probably come back. And I was like, yeah, it's really different
1:58
It's great. I mean, that's sort of how it goes. World premieres. I've done a couple other world premieres and that's like tons of changes during the day
2:05
you do them at night or sometimes you have to wait and like they teach you something and then
2:09
you put it in on Friday and have to do three shows without doing those changes but it's um
2:13
that's showbiz. I love what we get to do as this so I'm one of the stoners I play Stacy along with
2:20
um Alicia and Caleb and um I love that we kind of are that playful side like you know um yeah it's
2:28
a comedy and like you know we have to punch like you know the the characters who are within the
2:32
story have their punch lines but we kind of are in this like otherworldly thing where we kind of just get to go crazy and do whatever
2:39
It's a riot the whole time. It's a lot of fun. It's a goofy, bloody, delicious musical
2:45
There's a lot of great harmonies which I get to sing. The music is really fun. It takes place in the 70s. There's like lights and rock and roll. I mean who could hate that
2:54
We have, this process has been an extended process and we're very excited to have it open
3:00
and up and out for the people. I mean, I just love each individual character
3:05
and how they come together to tell the story
