Well, first of all, congratulations
0:01
Thank you, man. Thank you. What made Cats so special for you to make
0:06
It was special in a lot of ways because, obviously, it's a legendary musical
0:10
and to be a part of any legacy, I think, is very humbling
0:15
But me being a theater kid and me going to college for theater
0:19
musical theater has a very special place in my heart. When I seen Cats when I was younger, I didn't pin myself as, you know
0:31
Remt-tum-tugger, that's like a perfect role for me. But it ended up being the perfect role for me
0:37
and I think it's the perfect bridge between music and what I want to do in film
0:41
What a big movie musical. I mean, you did the number live and everything else
0:45
What was it like filming your big number? It was a lot, but also a lot of fun
0:51
You know what I'm saying? It was constantly something brand new every single day
0:56
One day we're filming inside the kitchen, and I'm running into the street
1:00
and I'm running into this, that, and the other. So it kept things very exciting every day
1:09
But yeah, I had a lot of fun, man. It was a very physical experience as well as a very personal one We were pretty much naked the entire time Yeah So a lot of you know bulges everywhere And you know as you can imagine we got very close
1:24
So it was a lot of fun. For you, I mean, you're all so wonderful at what you do
1:29
What was the easiest thing for you to learn as a cat? And what was the hardest thing to learn
1:33
I think the easiest thing was the music. So, like, musically, you know, like, you know, that's like my day job
1:43
So it's kind of like light work. But in terms of embodying a cat and dancing as a cat is a whole different thing
1:50
I think, you know, it's a skill that you continue to develop. And as the movie went along, I feel like it got better and better and better
1:58
What was, like, the easiest thing that came to you, like, being a cat? Like, did something come easy for you
2:04
No. No. I think everything was pretty much equally as awkward. Yeah
2:11
Because cats move so much differently than we do. I mean, the hardest thing is remembering the same arm, same leg
2:18
As human beings, we walk opposites. And I'm very... Like, the way that I sit and stand, I'm very upright
2:28
I hold my chest up high. And I've always been told that the most successful people in life
2:32
are people that have better posture So you know growing up like that and then having to bring everything on the inside is an entirely different way of being
2:44
Yeah. So a lot of time in front of the mirror, a lot of time recording myself
2:48
just so that I could, you know, embody this cat the way I've seen fit
2:52
This is your feature debut, your first big film. What was your biggest takeaway from the film
2:57
My biggest takeaway was all the valuable information that I learned from Tom
3:03
I think he's an incredible director. I think he's probably the classiest director out there
3:08
Not that I know very many directors. But he is just as good as you can possibly imagine
3:17
And I was like a Nat Nazir all the time. Like, why did you decide to do that
3:20
Like, why did you put four cameras there and then three? You know, because I really wanted to pick his brain
3:25
and see exactly why, you know, he does his methods the way he does them
3:31
because I hope to direct one of my films one day. Tonight is a magical night
3:40
where I choose the cat that deserves a new life. Going to the ball could get dangerous Come on Let dance
4:02
I judge a cat by its soul I've got plenty of soul Spotlight
4:10
And a drum roll please Milk Milk It's party time The most deserving cat
4:20
will be reborn into another life. So they can be who they've always dreamed of being
4:29
What's your name? Cat got your tongue? Here we go! Don't mess with the crazy cat lady
4:53
Now it is time to make the choice. Right, well, that's not going to work, is it
5:02
That's what I say to you Cross pause Come, we're about to begin
5:08
I love it
