Greetings, my friends
0:06
This is the last of these videos that I'm going to be posting for a while
0:12
However, if there's something that you're interested in seeing me sing or do or want to know about in my world of arcane music
0:22
please do reach out to me and connect and maybe I'll surprise you and come back and share some more
0:28
stories or memorabilia or music. But for now I'm going to take a little break and turn inward
0:37
because I feel that this is a time of such tremendous importance
0:42
in that every decision we make is meaningful, is purposeful. One of the things that has happened for me in this
0:53
heart-sinking experience is that that there's always some kind of opportunity that comes
1:03
where we can somehow make our world better. There are people that are experiencing such horrible things
1:11
death, deprivation, sadness, so many worries in the world. And the only thing we have control over is the personal choice we make
1:20
in how we respond to something. And this time has made me examine my life, re-examine it
1:27
hoping that what comes from this will be an opportunity to be in some way a better person
1:33
For me, meditation and prayer is extremely important. And every day I've been joining with a prayer group started by Carolyn Mace
1:45
1 p.m. Pacific time. I've been praying for world peace just during visualization
1:50
and seeing the world the way that I would like it to be. But one of the other things that has come to me in this time
1:57
time is that we have such tremendous power in ourselves that is untapped that we don realize that we don think about or see but we have power The power of our individual choices is tremendous I believe that the thought forms that we put out in the world
2:19
every moment of every thought, puts something in the world. And when you multiply that by millions, it's infinitely powerful
2:31
Therefore, I have resolved to be more mindful about what I think
2:35
about what I say and what I do, because it all contributes to the whole
2:40
And together, by creating the intention of what we want, in some way it helps to make the world a better place
2:48
I do believe in a divine spirit or a divine energy, whatever you want to call it
2:52
that we are all a part of. And I know that that energy is something that works through us
2:59
and is guiding us and is moving us to some other place
3:04
literally Lord knows where but I do know that collectively we will come through this
3:11
and we will be stronger for it that is my prayer I'm going to sing you a song surprise
3:20
this one is written by Marshall Bearer the lyrics are by Marshall Bearer
3:24
the music is by Michael Leonard known to his friend says Mickey
3:28
and unbeknownst to Mickey Marshall wrote these words as a song of
3:36
liberation. He wrote it for gay liberation, even though you would not know that
3:42
listening to this song, because it is simply a song that encourages people
3:48
to live their truth and to take the time now to do so
3:53
He's saying that the time is now to create what we want. There is no time like the present
3:59
to take the initiative and to live our truth. Marshall said that he was inspired in creating the title of the time has come by Victor Hugo
4:14
who said I paraphrasing because they don remember the exact quote but it was something like nothing can stop an idea whose time has come The first of these lyrics are actually a quotation of Lewis Carroll
4:30
I think the Jabberwocky, the poem. But then it gets into the words of
4:36
Marshall Bearer. has come to all you said to talk of many things
5:00
of shoes and ships and sea. And sea them wells
5:10
of carriages and kings. our fee
5:49
practical advice might take it slowly twice
5:58
might very well suffice for some but such
6:08
as we would choose to see What others still refuse to see
6:22
We break the night To save the right To meet a different drop
6:40
For us, the time has come. Practical advice, like it's
7:07
like it's slow than twice
7:26
might very well suffice for some. But such as we
7:37
would choose to sing while others still refuse to see
7:50
And I pray the night To save the right To meet a different drug
8:02
For us, the time has come For us, the time has come
8:23
the time has come
