BroadwayWorld is excited to exclusively bring you our newest, and first webseries that takes place in an actual theatre- Empty Space. Empty Space is a love-letter to live theater, a nine-episode comedy that explores and glorifies the world of diehard thespians, those hardcore beasts of the theater who soldier on against the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune because, after all, the show must go on.

It's the scene between myself and Kira where Bashkin is kind of trying to
0:38
through with her mind a little bit if you want to call it. Your comic timing
0:44
It's perfect. As actors, we have a process and we have a way of how we work with the lines and with the character
0:54
If someone in that process comes in and tells you the way how you do this life
0:59
The way how you do this line is perfect. It's going to be hard to go back to what you were doing again
1:05
Thou art thou out of breath when thou hast breath to say to me that thou art out of breath
1:10
the excuse that thou dost make in this day. Hang on, hang on. What happened then
1:15
Where? You know where, Kira, that used to be quite funny. And so, uh, Baskin kind of pulls that card of Kira and the chemistry there
1:23
And, yeah, that has to be one of my favorite scene and my favorite scene
1:29
My favorite scene was I guess what in our production was the balcony scene I loved the moment where she talking into the mirror talking to herself about Orson She finally admitting to herself that she in love
1:44
Why does he have to be an actor? I don't trust actors. I work with Kieran Milan
1:49
How can I help it? Actors lie for a living. They pretend to be people that they aren't
1:57
It's basically the wherefore art thou Romeo, a little monologue there. She's really admitting to herself that she's now fallen for this guy, and he's overhearing her right outside the dressing room
2:14
I think my favorite was working with Arbor as Boschkheim. Because we were shooting one of the scenes where we're plotting revenge on the actors
2:26
It was like 4 o'clock in the morning. We were shooting in everybody who's just starting to lose their minds
2:31
So the whole thing with the whole thing with the Can I say that
2:38
Yeah, you can say it? With the retractable blade, where both of us were kind of
2:43
he actually had the blade and was just fiddling around with it
2:48
and then I got to just like cackle at 4 o'clock in the morning
2:53
like a random theater in Long Beach. Yeah, but that was my favorite part
3:04
I really really loved working with Mark Jacobson who was the fake Romeo because those scenes were just they were really really funny Let me be 10 Um he super easy to work with and I ended up uh um working with him further
3:26
It's actually like, it actually sort of formed a really lovely theatrical, uh, friendship
3:31
My favorite person to work with on set is a little woman named Stephanie, or I call her butter
3:38
because she's my little butter slice. She loves butter. She eats it all the time
3:43
So she was probably a good budget safer for crafty because they just put out butter and she would eat it
3:51
Stephanie was the first AC and she did a great job along with everyone else on set
3:58
But she was just a little cuter. My favorite scene to shoot was with Bashkim up in the
4:05
up above the theater, the sword fighting scene. Ouch
4:17
That was just really fun because I've never done anything like that before and put some hair on my chest
4:24
I don't know, everybody was a lot of fun to work with. I found Chris really intimidating because he's really, really funny
4:32
He was really funny so in a couple scenes where I had to be ready to improv with him, I'm terrified
4:37
I don't want to be rude. I don't know who you are
4:42
And you just walked into the theater and we're trying to do like our own thing right now. Okay
4:48
This is a really important scene And like you not supposed to be here I don think Why are you wearing that shirt See that question makes me think that you shouldn be here
5:01
But it was also really fun to watch him work. I don't know, I could say something nice about everybody
5:09
I had a great time working with my surrogate son. I don't want to say too much, but we had one scene where I had a very difficult time getting through it
5:19
I think everybody did because of what's going on behind me. We will be revenged on the whole pack of you
5:26
We all had hard time getting through it with a strange face
5:34
Working with Edon, the cinematographer, was an extraordinary experience and one that I just repeated on our next project together, which is called Roadies
5:42
Lookout for it. It's coming soon. He's just an extraordinarily talented guy and dedicated
5:49
He knows literally everything there is to know about cinematography and cinematic history, and it's crazy
5:58
I don't know how somebody his age has that much experience and knowledge
6:02
but he's somebody who spends his free time doing things like empty space and hanging out at the ASC clubhouse
6:11
and bothering ASC members on the weekend for their time and just hanging out with him and learning everything there is to know
6:17
it's rare to meet somebody like him and I'm extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him
6:23
Watch empty space. Watch empty space. Watch empty space. Watch empty space
6:29
Watch empty space. Watch empty space
