Here I just go. All right, Leandra. Let's do it. What are we doing
0:59
We're going to learn how we are here. Yes. Ready? Here we go
1:03
Let's get right in. We're going to start with three power turns to the left and three to the right
1:09
We're going to do it by the tempo. We're ambidextrous. Yes. So we'll start here and we have one, two, three, and you're going to release the body down
1:20
Now we go the other direction. One, two, three, release the body down
1:25
Then we're gonna go to the side, we're gonna go one, two, three, just a nice brick palm with a kick at the end
1:31
Absolutely, yes, yes, yes, yes, I say yes to that. Now we're gonna use those same shoulders. Okay
1:38
And we're gonna push up with the left arm, on the toe, then up with the right, up with the left, and then up with the right
1:45
So we have four of those. So you kind of step into it? Yes you step right into it Okay And you wanna hit the wall behind you Hit it Hit the wall Hit the wall I very familiar with hitting this Out of this one we up with the right Okay We going to take this arm back and push
2:00
Oh, yeah. Push. Yeah. Live in this moment and keep pushing it back one more time. Push. Push. Mm-hmm. Yes! Work! Yes
2:11
I did want to wear my shorts today to show off my Tina Turner-esque leg. Take me the best
2:16
This is like all my dreams come true. So we have push, two, three, four, push, push
2:22
Now we're going to slide this left foot back, my jambs. Slide, two, three, yes
2:29
Kick ball change. You're going to pull that foot up. And you're going to lay in here. Yes
2:36
Off, off to the races. Slide, two, and three, kick ball change. Woo
2:41
I am so proud! Mary, I'm so proud! Now we're gonna do the things I can't walk, which goes walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk
2:55
walk, walk, walk. But it's really all about feeling and how you find the movement in your body
3:02
There's a Tina in everybody. There's a Tina in you. gonna go kick down shimmy them down shimmy on up and then we're gonna go pony pony
3:16
now you know those i-cat walks? uh-huh i do one two three five six seven eight
3:24
this time it's like we're walking to a mic okay then we go burn it oh
3:30
do we say it like this? And then we have this angle we go look, look, down, down
3:39
Look look down down Now you going to take your right foot and you going to push it back And look away Glide yes Turn
3:52
Turn it! Yes! Yes! Turn it! And then we go, and we're rolling
3:58
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the moment we've all been waiting for
4:02
And we're rolling. Rolling. Yes, then we go. Rolling. Oh my gosh
4:09
Oh my gosh. Yes! Oh my gosh, this feels so right. I can't believe my luck today
4:16
Rolling on the river. Yes, yes. And the river. And can we sing that
4:25
Yes, we're singing. Oh, yeah. Our measuring mic is just... It's picking..
4:29
It's just the two of us? Just the two of us. You didn't need anybody else today
4:34
So we swing down, And swing it down. And swing it down
4:43
And swing it down. And now it's four. Down lift. Down lift
4:51
And then we stop here. Oh my gosh. So, Leandra, for you, is this your first time dance captaining a Broadway show
5:01
A Broadway show, yes. What's the most challenging part about being a dance captain
5:04
I will say the heart of the biggest challenge is because I'm against having to swing sometimes
5:11
teaching new people new things like getting a new person into a track at a time
5:16
and also remembering what track you have to do while correcting somebody at the same time
5:20
sometimes the layers can add on top so you're just like oh so you're on stage doing a track
5:25
that you have to remember me and my are going okay wait a minute Sally's over there she needs to pull up stage a little bit yeah that formation's off yes it's like it's weird when was the last
5:34
and we have a day off Ha ha ha Yeah ask any dance captain that question Yeah Yeah great They don They don You ready I ready Are you ready Let have a Dance Captain Hotel
6:04
Good job in a city Working for the man every night and day
6:16
And I never lost when being in a sleep And worried about the way things might happen
6:22
Big wheel give a turn But I'm trying to keep on living
6:28
We're rolling, rolling, rolling on the river Yes
