BLUE Celebrates Mothers' Day

Hi, everybody. I just wanted to reach out to you as a cast member of Blue and say

I know that this is a really strange time for all of us, and Sunday is Mother's Day

It was also going to be our opening night, but I want to say to you, Happy Mother's Day. Whether you've given birth to a child or an idea or whatever, you've done it

Mother's Day has always been a day of significance for me, a very special time

I remember as a child, it was always on Sunday. It was always a beautiful day

And there was something quiet and serene about it. Well, tonight would have been our opening night, but the world is on pause, right

So we wanted to take this time to celebrate on Mother's Day, all the moms. Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms who helped make dreams come true

A couple years ago, I was in Chicago, and I remember looking at my mom and being so proud of her

She was about two weeks away from getting a PhD. She was my hero

She was an educator an activist She was brilliant stunning complicated impossible And she gave me the greatest gift the gift of permission

My mother, Doris Joubert, was the main influence of my music, got music from her

And I gotta tell you, the light in all of this for me has no doubt been getting to sit

on the couch and watch game shows with my mama. And because I'm here in New York, my mother's in Michigan, I won't get a chance to see her

So I'd like to take this opportunity to say to my mama, happy Mother's Day, mama

I love you, mama. Happy Mother's Day. We keep working hard. So to all who have given love with a mother's heart, unselfishly, happy Mother's Day

So on this Mother's Day. From our family and the production of Blue

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there. And we'll see you when you come see Blue

Take care and keep thinking Blue. Pray for peace, love, and blessings to flow your way

This Mother's Day and the next day and every day after that
